Accomplishments
- Considered one of the best players in Johnstown High School history.
- Standout for Tome Prep School in Maryland.
- Played for Indiana State Teacher’s College (now IUP) and Washington and Jefferson College.
- Played professionally and semi-professionally for several years.
- After playing days, became a coach and an official.
- Served as an assistant coach of the NFL Pittsburgh Pirates (now Steelers) in 1934, 1935, 1936.
- Was part of the NFL Pirates staff for a Nov. 5, 1936 game against the Philadelphia Eagles played at Johnstown’s Point Stadium. The Pirates won 6-0.
