Accomplishments
- Involved in and been successful in numerous forms of motorsports competition for nearly 50 years.
- Bought his first competition car, a Triumph Spitfire, in 1965.
- Began his racing career in 1968, attending the MRS driver’s school at the Brands Hatch circuit in England.
- Competed in several Formula Ford races while in England and then traveled to Brazil where he entered a number of races in a variety of cars.
- Returned to Johnstown in 1970 and competed in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) regional races.
- Won the 1973 SCCA Northeast Division championship in Formula Ford and finished a close second in the national championship race.
- Competed in the Formula Super Vees and Formula Atlantic Series.
- Tied for Rookie of the Year honors in 1978 in the Formula Atlantic Series while competing against drivers such as Danny Sullivan and Bobby Rahal.
- Shifted into the Trans-Am and IMSA racecar series in the 1980s.
- Returned to racing in 1996 after a brief break, and finished sixth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1997 in France.
- His team had success in the GT national point standings in the Grand Am Road Racing Association including a third-place finish at Daytona International Speedway in 2004.
- Competed with Grand-Am since 2003 in both the Rolex and KONI Challenge Series.
- Earned series-high three wins but finished 15th in KONI Challenge Series Grand Sport standings.
- Made two Rolex Series starts, finishing season-best seventh at Mid-Ohio.
- Won back-to-back KONI Challenge GS races at Lime Rock and Mid-Ohio, and finished fourth in points.
- Joined BMW Team PTG and scored two podiums, placing third twice in 2005.
- Piloted a Porsche GT3 for TRG with best finish of third at Daytona in 2003.
- Scored six podium finishes in 2004 in GT for TRG, completing the season third in the points.
