Accomplishments
West Suburban 12-Under won the Little League Softball World Series Aug. 10, 2025. Representing Johnstown and comprised of players from throughout Cambria County, West Suburban became the first Pennsylvania team to win the Series since 1978.
The title run concluded in the most-watched LLSWS championship game ever on ESPN platforms – drawing an average of 1.44 million viewers and peaking at nearly 3 million, according to ESPN.
Behind Cambria Heights School District standout pitcher Reagan Bills’ dominant performance in the circle, West Suburban defeated Indiana 1-0 to complete a 5-0 Little League Softball World Series run while outscoring opponents 17-1.
The World Series-winning squad included: Mallory Bailor, Aubrey Baxter, Reagan Bills, Sadie Divido, Kennedy Fees, Camilla Gaunt, Adalyn Hines, Mara Keefe, Kendal Schilling, Leilah Schilling-Mansour, Haley Shepherd and Nevaeh Worthington.
They defeated Floyds Knobs, Indiana, 1-0 in the championship game that took place in Greenville, North Carolina.
Check out these extraordinary numbers the West Suburban team produced during the summer of 2025:
- 20-2: The team’s overall record. West Suburban earned District 11, Section 4, Pennsylvania, Mid-Atlantic Region and Little League Softball World Series titles. The team’s only losses were against State College (1-0) and Valley View (8-5).
- 10-0: Its record in elimination games.
- 15: West Suburban ended the season on a 15-game winning streak. After the team lost 8-5 to Valley View July 9 in the opening game of the 2025 state tournament, the local squad did not lose the rest of the summer against the best teams the state, region and world had to offer.
- 0.00: Pitcher Reagan Bills’ earned run average over five games at the Little League Softball World Series. The 13-year-old hurler from Patton threw every pitch and went 5-0 with 51 strikeouts in 30 innings, which included four straight shutouts. Connecticut scored a run in the top of the sixth inning on a delayed steal of home Aug. 3 in Greenville. Bills struck out 15 Connecticut batters in that contest.
- 10: Shutouts the team posted this summer, which included four straight in the Little League Softball World Series. West Suburban also blanked two opponents each during the state and regional tournaments. Strong defense around the diamond prevented other teams from scoring.
- 139-31: Run differential in West Suburban’s favor this summer.
- 17-1: The local team made up of all-stars from Cambria County outscored its opponents 17-1 during the Little League Softball World Series.
- 89-14: West Suburban scored 89 runs and permitted just 14 during its 15-game winning streak, including a 72-13 edge in the state and regional tournaments after its July 9 loss.
- 103: Strikeouts Reagan Bills compiled over the Mid-Atlantic and Little League Softball World Series tournaments in nine games. Bills punched out 52 in four games during the Mid- Atlantic tourney in Bristol, Connecticut, which included a 16-strikeout no-hitter against Maryland. She then struck out 10 or more batters in three of her starts in Greenville, including 15 against Connecticut in the opener.
- 2: Memorable comebacks West Suburban completed to highlight a magical summer on the diamond. Delaware led 2-0 in the first inning of the Mid-Atlantic Region championship game July 25. The local team scored four runs in the fourth to take its first lead. Delaware answered with two runs in the fifth to tie. The game went into the seventh when Fees provided a walk-off single to the right side of the infield. In the Little League Softball World Series opener Aug. 3 against Guilford, Connecticut, the New England champs scored on a delayed steal of home in the top of the sixth inning to break a scoreless contest. West Suburban answered back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Schilling knotted the game at 1-all with an RBI single. Schilling-Mansour’s walk-off single to right field with two outs ended the thrilling contest.
- 1.44 million: The average number of people who watched the championship game, becoming the most-watched Little League Softball World Series game in history. A peak of 2.98 million viewers tuned in to the ABC broadcast. There was a 139% increase in viewership compared to the 2024 title game.
