Accomplishments

  • Left-handed relief specialist appeared in 353 Major League Baseball games with the Anaheim Angels (1996-2001), Oakland Athletics (2002), San Diego Padres (2002) and Boston Red Sox (2006).
  • Posted a career 16-19 record with three saves in eight seasons.
  • Led the Angels with 66 appearances in 1997. Also made 60-plus appearances in 2001 (63) and 2000 (61).
  • Had career bests in wins (three, tie), saves (two), innnings (43.1), appearances (66) and strikeouts (40, tie) in 1997.
  • Posted a 2.45 ERA in 40 games during his rookie season in 1996 and followed up with 3.32 ERA in 66 appearances in 1997.
  • Central Cambria High graduate also spent a season at the Class AAA level in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
  • Played for the Yokohama BayStars in the Japanese Central League in 2005.
  • At Clemson University, overcame career-threatening Tommy John surgery to pitch in the College World Series.
  • Selected by the Angels in the 17th round of the 1994 amateur draft.
  • Starred locally in the AAABA League and AAABA Tournament.
  • Inducted into the AAABA Hall of Fame.
