Accomplishments

As a Bishop McCort Catholic High School wrestler, Jax Forrest earned a gold medal in the 2025 Under-23 World Championships in a back-and-forth title bout at 61 kilograms in Novi Sad, Serbia.

A two-time PIAA champion as a high school sophomore and junior, Forrest made national news when he graduated early at Bishop McCort Catholic in late December 2025 and joined the Oklahoma State University NCAA Division I program in January 2026. As a true freshman, Forrest went undefeated and won a NCAA Division I championship at 133 pounds in March 2026. His historic accomplishments received national acclaim.

On the World level in 2025 in Serbia, Forrest took an early lead and then outlasted 2024 Under-17 world champion Omurbek Asan Uulu of Kyrgyzstan, 17-14, in the final round.

Throughout his four matches in the 2025 World Championship event, Forrest accumulated 55 points. He won his first three bouts via technical falls.

Perhaps more impressively, Forrest defeated world champion Vito Arujao to become the youngest wrestler to represent the U.S. at the Senior World Championships in more than 50 years. Facing the world’s best freestyle wrestlers at any age, the teenaged Forrest placed fifth in Croatia.

He also won Pan-Am gold in 2025, and Forrest won silver at the U-17 World Championships in Rome in 2022.

Back in the United States in 2026, Forrest earned the national spotlight with his highly-publicized run through the NCAA Division I Tournament to cap an incredible freshman season packed into three months.
