Accomplishments

  • Johnstown High graduate played three seasons for the NFL’s Chicago Bears from 1973 to 1975.
  • The 6-foot-5, 252-pound defensive end appeared in 41 games and started 11 times.
  • Selected by Bears in the second round with the 48th pick overall in 1973 NFL Draft.
  • Played at Purdue University and was named a Big Ten Conference all-star.
  • Earned spots on College All-Star Football Game and East-West Football Classic rosters after his senior season in 1972.
  • Earned a starting spot as a sophomore at Purdue and held the spot during his junior and senior seasons.
  • Played defensive end for the Bears on a unit that included the legendary Dick Butkus.
  • Played for Johnstown High coach Francis “Blackie” Mihalic and was chosen to the All-West WPIAL team as well as earning a selection to the 13th annual Pennsylvania Big 33 Football Game in 1969.
