Native of Surrey, England, brought his vast knowledge of the game of golf to Johnstown in 1920.
Spent 29 years teaching and playing the game in the region.
Charter member of the Professional Golf Association (PGA).
Appeared on the original list of 35 charter golf professionals who met on Jan. 16, 1916 to form the PGA.
Served as golf pro at Sunnehanna Country Club from 1920 to 1937.
Served as golf pro at North Fork Country Club from 1937 to 1938.
Was golf pro at Berkley Hills from 1938 to 1948 and managed the club from 1943 to 1948.
A lifetime member of the National Golf Association, a member of the Tri-State PGA and a golf pro for 44 years.
Served as golf pro at the Flushing (Long Island) Golf Club from 1913 to 1919.
Was an apprentice at the Sunningdale Club, also known as the Royal Golf Course in England from 1904 to 1912.
