Accomplishments

  • Johnstown Catholic High School graduate set multiple scoring records at the University of Notre Dame from 1949 to 1952.
  • Captain of the 1951-52 Notre Dame team.
  • Led the Fighting Irish in scoring average (14.1) and free throw percentage as a senior in 1951-52.
  • Named NABC Division I honorable mention in 1952.
  • Member of a college all-star team that played the reknown Harlem Globetrotters.
  • Selected by the Rochester Royals third overall in the 1952 NBA draft.
  • Coached Bishop McCort High School to a 107-30 record and two Pennsylvania Catholic Interscholastic Athletic Association Class A championships in 1960 and 1963.
