Accomplishments

  • Strittmatter was part of two NCAA Division II wrestling team championships at Pitt-Johnstown in 1996 and 1999.
  • Won the NCAA Division II individual championship at 133 pounds in 1999.
  • Placed second in the nation at 118 pounds in 1996.
  • Earned three NCAA Division II All-American honors (with 1st, 2nd, 5th place finishes).
  • Was part of four straight regional team titles and four consecutive top-5 national team finishes.
  • Finished his career at Pitt-Johnstown with a 112-15 record and .882 winning percentage.
  • Held the Pitt-Johnstown regular-season win record at 133 pounds with 35 and the overall wins in a season mark with 41 at 133.
  • Began his career at Penn State University in NCAA Division I and started as a true freshman on the Nittany Lions squad before transferring to Pitt-Johnstown.
  • Won three NCAA Division II East Regional titles at Pitt-Johnstown.
  • Earned a fourth-place finish in the Freestyle University National Tournament.
  • Cambria Heights High School graduate joins his brother Jody Strittmatter (2006) as Cambria County Sports Hall of Fame inductees.
  • At Cambria Heights, Strittmatter posted an 83-15-0 career record and .847 winning percentage. He won both District 6 and regional titles, advancing to the state tournament twice.
  • Coached wrestling for four seasons at Central Cambria High School.
  • Is a part of the staff at the nationally renown Young Guns Wrestling Club, taking on full-time duties in 2008.
