Accomplishments
- WJAC-TV sports anchor from November 1981 to November 2011 – 30 years, longest serving sports anchor at WJAC.
- Added 6 p.m. anchoring duties in April 1986 and served as Sports Director from 1989 to 2011.
- Finished career August 2022 as 5, 6, 11 p.m. news anchor.
- Started career as Sports Director at WJNL Radio in January 1980 to May 1981.
- Recognized by Associated Press in March 1981 for breaking the story that Ron Miller of Johnstown died in the Tough Man event at the War Memorial, which led the state to ban that type of competition.
- Initiated WJAC-TV’s Friday Football Final as well as high school football conference media days that now include other sports.
- Recognized by The Associated Press in December 1989 as the first reporter to break Penn State’s acceptance to the Big Ten Conference.
- Named top play-by-play announcer in Pennsylvania medium market television stations by Associated Press and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters for coverage of AAABA Tournament, Johnstown Chiefs and Sunnehanna Amateur.
- Provided TV play-by-play for the Altoona Curve (including the first home game) and Johnstown Johnnies/Steal, Johnstown Indoor Football League, and Ken Lantzy Finest 40 football game.
- Inducted into the AAABA Hall of Fame in 2007.
- In September 2021 became the first broadcaster from WJAC to be inducted into the Silver Circle Society by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The award recognizes significant contributions made by selected individuals who have been in television news for 25 years or more.
- Emcee of Cambria County Sports Hall of Fame induction banquets, working 12 banquets from 1990 through 2024 prior to his induction.
